She is underrepresented, misunderstood, and negatively portrayed. She looks around for a place to explore the dance, the music, the art, for a person in her likeness. She looks for community, acceptance and opportunity. She is a women of Hip-Hop. The Ladies of Hip-Hop Festival is the place where she has a voice, she is heard, and she is dancing! Laying the groundwork for women in hip-hop dance, we have created an extraordinary community of women through events like Ladies of Hip-Hop. With tremendous support from the dance community Ladies of Hip-Hop is celebrating it’s fifth-year. This year Ladies of Hip-Hop is expanded beyond its’ annual dance workshops to a-week long festival.
